ITV Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid issues emotional message as she marks ‘last show’

has shared that today (December 11) will be her “last show” for for a while. The presenter issued an emotional message, thanking viewers fondly, as she announced that she would be taking a break.

Sitting alongside her co-star , the 54-year-old host brought up the show’s 1 Million Minutes campaign. The campaign aims to encourage viewers to pledge their time to charities that tackle the issues of loneliness.

Since launching in 2016, a staggering 672 million minutes of time have been donated to charities in need of volunteers who can connect with those who feel alone.

Susanna shared: “Ending on a positive note, our amazing 1 Million Minutes campaign – I just want to say thank you to everybody who has pledged their minutes to the campaign.

“We have a special programme on Christmas Day but this is my last chance to say thank you to you before Christmas because it is my last programme before Christmas Day.”

GMB presenters

Good Morning Britain presenters regularly take lengthy breaks throughout the year. The normal faces on the ITV show are often missing at key times such as for some time in the summer, at Easter and of course Christmas.

In recent weeks ITV newsreader Paul Brand stepped in alongside Ravir Singh to cover Kate Garraway and Adil Ray unexpectedly.

Paul presented the show for the first time in over two years, after making his initial GMB debut in August 2022.

There is a high chance he could be back as he said that he “loved” the experience and “couldn’t wait” to do it again.

For his normal role on the channel, he is the UK editor of ITV News and took overfrom Julie Etchingham as the new presenter of ITV’s weekly current affairs programme Tonight in 2022.
