Good Morning Britain viewers were left overwhelmed with emotion, shedding tears within moments of tuning in.
In a touching segment on Wednesday’s show, hosts and Richard Madeley were joined by the courageous teen Liz Hattons mother, Vicky Robayna, and her younger brother Mateo, as they honoured the heroic girl’s memory.
Seventeen year old Liz, hailing from Harrogate, tragically lost her brave battle with cancer in late November. She had won the admiration of the Prince and Princess of Wales and garnered media attention when she was photographically captured in a touching embrace with Kate during a visit to Windsor Castle to snap pictures of William at an investiture.
Overcome with emotion while remembering his sister, Mateo fought back tears as he expressed his awe for Liz, telling Susanna and Richard, “She was just outstanding.”
In a poignant declaration, he added: “I can barely even explain to her and that’s just out of this world how I am talking right now. Even though she was so tired she picked me up.”, reports .

Visibly moved, a tearful Mateo further shared: “We are just trying to pull it together now that she is not really with us at the moment.”
Offering comfort, Vicky interjected, speaking to Mateo: “We are aren’t we. We are just trying to take each day aren’t we and make her as proud of us as we possibly can.”
Vicky confessed that coping varies day by day, saying: “Some days are harder than others and some days we just get ourselves on a mission and try and do what she would have wanted us to do.”
Vicky remarked: “She never said why me, she never said I can’t do this and she just got on with it and said why not me, let’s just make the most of each and every day.”
