Affordable city break with beautiful scenery and less crowds is only 3 hours from the UK

The season can bring an increase in spending, which means many people are looking for a more budget-friendly break for the New Year.

With that said, new research has revealed the most affordable alternative city breaks. The study, carried out by , compiled a list of the best alternative cities to visit in 2025.

To determine the results, they considered things to do, luxury and , sights and landmarks, and, most importantly, the index score.

Most of the locations are in , so travellers thankfully don’t have a long flight ahead of them. Even better, most of them are less crowded than other popular European destinations.

10. Yerevan

Country: Armenia

Cost of living index score: 44.3

City break score: 4.50

Yerevan is the capital of Armenia and may be a destination that many may not think of due to its flight time of more than seven hours. However, the history of the country and its museums are worth a visit.
