Abbie Humphries was taken from a Nottingham hospital when she was just three hours old
A woman who was snatched from her cot as a baby by a woman pretending to be a nurse has died at the age of 30.
Abbie Humphries was taken, sparking a nationwide manhunt and a 16-day search for the newborn, reports the .
Ms Humphries was kidnapped from Queen’s Medical Centre, she was found after 16 days in the suburb of Wollaton.
She was not aware she had been until she was aged 10-years-old when she discovered her story during a house move when she found a message from Princess Diana.
Ms Humphries has now tragically died after a battle with a brain tumour.

She went on to work as a flight attendant and have a career in IT, and she married her teenage love, Karl Sundgren.
Karl announced on Facebook that his wife had succumbed to her illness on Sunday at the age of 30, he wrote: “Our beautiful Abbie peacefully passed away yesterday, surrounded by loved ones.
“She fought so hard with so much strength and grace for over four years and can finally rest.
“Please feel free to join us. Abbie was so strong, and her infectious smile will forever remain in our hearts.”
The family, who moved to , has faced further sorrow as Abbie’s mother Karen also died from breast cancer in 2020.
Following the tragic loss of her mother, Abbie reflected in a 2021 interview with . “We have just had a terrible amount of bad luck. I usually choose to look at the positive side of everything. It makes everyone feel better”.
The drama ‘The Secrets She Keeps’, which drew inspiration from Abbie’s ordeal, aired in 2020. It was only at the age of 26 that Abbie grasped the full gravity of her own abduction.
Journalists played a crucial role in bringing attention to her case, and 16 days after her kidnapping, she was found at a .
Police received a tip-off about Julie Kelley, a former dental nurse residing there with her partner and his mother, who had allegedly been pregnant with a boy.
However, suspicion arose when she returned home with a girl instead.

Kelley admitted to the abduction of Abbie and was sentenced to three years probation and treatment for a severe personality disorder.
This kidnapping is still considered one of the most brazen in British history, triggering a national police operation.
Kelley had posed as a nurse to audaciously walk out of the hospital with baby Abbie.
During a live televised press conference, Karen pleaded: “Whoever has , can they please give her back.”
Despite the plea, Kelley did not come forward, leading to an extensive search across the UK for little Abbie.
Abbie was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2021, just a year following the death of her mother.
Despite being given a prognosis of 12 months to live, she lived for nearly four years before losing her life on Sunday.
