is based in London’s and describes itself as “the ultimate destination for festive fun.”

But many visitors have come away with little Christmas cheer, taking to Tripadvisor to complain about extortionate prices and “uninteresting stalls”.

“Entry fee buys you nothing, the ‘Christmas market’ consists of a few uninteresting stalls and the crowds and queues will make it uncomfortable for adults and especially children.”

Mr Lowry is not alone in his views, with 1,191 of the attraction’s 5,992 reviews awarding it a disappointing one or two stars.

Another person wrote on Tripadvisor: “I was excited to go to Winter Wonderland given the endless praise you hear for it.

“There is nothing to do, unless you want to spend a fortune on rides that last 30 seconds or the carnival games, and we found ourselves walking in circles trying to find something to do.

“There were limited food options for vegetarians or vegans, and I found myself going hungry because of the lack of variety; it was mostly pizza or halloumi fries.”

Others have taken to the site to label the attraction’s customer service as “poor” with one evening claiming to have experienced a security guard using the “F-word” in front of her leaving her feeling “particularly disrespected” and her family “appalled”.

The event charges a £5 entry fee to all visitors over the age of two, although this fee is waived if you book £25 worth of attractions with your booking.

Attractions such as ice skating cost between £12-£17 whilst rides on the many rollercoasters all come with an additional fee starting at £5.

Winter Wonderland opened in 2007 as an open-air with a small selection of temporary rides, an ice rink and a giant wheel.

It has since morphed into one of the capital’s most successful , with thousands of visitors attending each year to soak up the rides, the beer tents or abundance of food stalls.
