is renowned for her elegant style and show-stopping ensembles after representing the for more than a decade. Since marrying it is believed that she struck up a close bond with the late Queen Elizabeth and she took on the role of guiding her through public life.

was known for her love of tradition and always adhering to protocol – she took pride in being the head of the crown and leader of the monarchy. She cared about the finer details and how she was perceived right down to her fashion cues.

This is something the Princess of Wales has adopted – including one of her fashion hacks. Her Majesty often colour-blocked to stand out from the crowd.

She would dress in one single colour when it came to her outfit and chosen accessories rather than mixing shades. If you take a look back over Kate’s ensembles over the years, she has done this.

Following this trend, Princess Kate dressed head-to-toe in red. t, which was held at Westminster Abbey on Friday (December 6). Kate employed the colour trick right down to one of the Queen’s colours.

This year the Princess of Wales stepped out in a red ensemble – which was a touching tribute to Queen Elizabeth.

Her coat was designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, with the garment being a staple in her wardrobe for years.

Much like the Queen, Princess Kate is very conscious of sustainable fashion, so it comes as no surprise that she paired this with her ensemble. Underneath her coat, wore a trendy chic red tartan skirt that continued the fashion tip of not mixing tones.

It has been said that Her Majesty was a huge fan of the festive season after being at the centre of the Royal Family’s Christmas celebrations for more than 70 years.

It has been said that she would often don striking outfits and coordinate her wardrobe to suit the occasion.

Not only did the Queen wear the colour red on her final Christmas day speech before her death back in September 2022, but she also wore a vibrant dress on her last photo call on the steps of Sandringham back in 2020.

She wore a gorgeous deep red dress with a matching hat as she greeted King Charles and Queen Camilla, as well as and Princess Kate.

The Queen wore red on many occasions including official events – since her death Princess Kate has stepped out in more looks featuring the colour.
