Commuters are facing on a major UK after horror van crash.

A section of M11 has been closed after a car and van collided between J7A & J7 in Chelmsford causing a delay of around 60 minutes, the authorities have said.

The said that the incident has led to a congestion of around three miles. 

It said: “The M11 in Essex is closed southbound between J7A (Harlow) and J7 (Chelmsford) due to a collision involving a van and car.

“Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and National Highways Traffic Officers are at scene.

If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.”

Diversion route

Road users are advised to follow the ‘Hollow Square’ diversion symbol on road signs:Ext the M11 southbound at J7A and take the second exit onto the A1025.
Remain on the A1025 for approximately 2 miles to the “Mark Hall Roundabout” with the A414.
At the Mark Hall Roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A414 southbound.
Continue for approximately 2 miles to re-join the M11 southbound at J7.
