has opened up about his dinner conversation with darts icon and the advice he shared which could allow him to dominate the sport for years to come.

Already a 10-time PDC champion, the 17-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable rise to the top over the past 12 months in his first year as a professional.

He triumphed at the of Darts, Grand Slam and World Series Finals, as well as reaching the World Championship final in 2023 before losing out to Luke Humphries.

Littler will be one of the main players to watch at this year’s Worlds after rising to fourth in the PDC Order of Merit, having racked up over £1million in prize money.

His new-found fame saw him share a meal with Taylor in November and Littler let slip the advice he received from ‘The Power’, which may serve him well for the rest of his career.

“As soon as he walked in, me and my mum were, ‘What is going on!? Sat down having a meal with Phil Taylor!’ It was good,” Littler told

“He was telling me some of the stories on tour, [about] some of the players. He was saying, ‘Just keep yourself to yourself. The least you interact with people, the harder it is for them. Don’t need to talk to anyone’.”

The fan, who once attended a training session with the Red Devils squad, revealed he recently met his hero Sir Alex Ferguson and spoke to the 81-year-old briefly.

Unfortunately, he didn’t hear the words of wisdom passed on by the legendary Scot: “I didn’t really understand him…I did hear him say, ‘stick at it’,” Littler added.

Many darts professionals have tipped Littler to enjoy a successful career in darts and, given his young age, also think it is realistic that he can etch away at Taylor’s haul of trophies.

The Stoke-on-Trent hero didn’t rule out the possibility that Littler could one day surpass his record of 16 World Championship titles as he praised his humble character.

“He’s got age on his side, he’s got the ability,” says Taylor. “He just plays his game.

“He’s quiet as a mouse. Lovely company. Not motivated by prize money. He’s more interested in looking after his mother and father.”

Ahead of the tournament, which begins on December 15, Littler insisted he will look to relax before entering the biggest stage in the world of darts.

“A lot of sleep, practice, Xbox, chill out. An hour to an hour and a half [a day] on the board. Keep the arm loose,” he added. “[But] mostly just chilling, [see] some mates, go out with them sometimes. Otherwise just chilling in my bedroom on my own, playing my game, on my phone.”
