‘s sister team have confirmed they will be changing their name for 2025 in a bid to ease confusion among fans. At the start of this year, they were rebranded as after previously being known as AlphaTauri and Toro Rosso.Some fans have struggled with the name, with the team being colloquially referred to as , RB, Racing Bulls or simply ‘the other team’. In an attempt to make things clearer, a new name will be introduced from the start of next season.Peter Bayer, the CEO, has revealed the team will be known as Visa CashApp Racing Bulls which he hopes will ease the ambiguity.”We’ve been struggling to a certain extent with making it clear to people what the team name is and we’ve seen so many versions,” he said.

“In January, it all happened within weeks and we’ve probably been rushing a couple of things. What we see ultimately is that people are referring to us as Visa CashApp Racing Bulls.”Racing Bulls is something which, anyway, is our company name and certainly I’ve seen it in the German, Austrian, Italian, French media being used mostly actually. People [were] struggling with the RB thing alone, some of them mixing it up with .”Others didn’t actually really know what it stands for, so that’s why we decided to clarify that. Basically, what you will see in the future is Visa CashApp Racing Bulls and as an abbreviation.”The team, based in the Italian city of Faenza near the Imola circuit, initially entered F1 in 2006. It was originally called Toro Rosso, an Italian translation of to reflect its heritage and differentiate it from the main squad.

In 2020, the moniker was changed to AlphaTauri in a bid to promote ‘s fashion brand of the same name. The team has operated more independently than before in recent years but remains closely aligned to behind the scenes.The team’s presence on the grid has been controversial, with some arguing that companies should not be allowed to own two separate squads. chief has made it clear on several occasions that he believes it should be outlawed.: “If you look at every other major sport, you’re not allowed to own two teams. And I’d even go further, there’s A-B team relationships.”I can tell you from sitting in the FIA commission meetings, the voting is always the same even when in theory it shouldn’t be in one of the team’s best interests. We’ve seen it on track, some collaborations going on.”And then technically they’ve been very forthright, ‘we’re going to take the suspension’, etc. To have co-ownership of two teams, I think, isn’t a level playing field. It’s not what the fans expect, so the FIA really needs to do something about it.”
