In the moments preceding the big reveal, Danny alongside Coleen reminisced on their three-week stint. Recalling the journey, Danny described it as “totally insane,” attributing his personal growth to outstanding campmates who eased the struggle.
“This is totally insane. I’ve learned so much about myself, and that’s because the camp mates were unbelievable. They made it so easy for us to get through the hard times. I’ve had some of the hardest times I’ve ever had, some of the highest highs, and just tried to have fun along the way. It was way harder, harder than what it comes across on TV, but it’s real in there. You’re hungry, you’re tired, you’re lethargic.”
Concurrently, Coleen conveyed that the jungle had been a ‘strange experience’ but one reflecting time. She eloquently reflected on her inner thoughts amidst the wild: “It gave me time to think about me, my strengths and weaknesses.”
She poignantly acknowledged it was now ‘her turn’ to stand tall, advocating her children’s sense of pride after years of celebrating their footballer father.
