is set to unveil its called the that will travel across 800 miles of desert.

The first is expected to set off by the end of 2025, with the train line connecting Riyadh, the capital, to Al Qurayyat, near the Jordanian border.

The project is a collaboration between Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) and Italy’s Arsenale Group, which is famous for its work on luxury hospitality projects such as the Orient Express La Dolce Vita. 

The train is designed to reflect Saudi Arabian style and tradition and will feature 40 custom-built cabins, fine dining, and a lounge bar for up to 82 passengers.

Passengers can choose between one or two-night journeys, enjoying views of the desert and passing some and the King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Royal Natural Reserve. 

The train will also travel through Al-Qassim and Ha’il.

Arsenale Group referred to the venture as “luxury train cruising,” and its CEO, Paolo Barletta, described the project as groundbreaking. 

“Saudi Arabia will be the first country to offer luxury hospitality by rail, embracing the trend of slow and experiential travel,” he said.

The project is valued at over £50 million and part of Saudi Arabia’s broader push to boost its tourism industry. 

Since opening its borders to international tourists in 2019, , a futuristic urban hub, and Trojena, a planned ski resort. 

Saudi Arabia aims to attract 70 million international visitors annually by 2030.

The train’s construction is expected to be completed by the summer of 2025, with reservations opening in late 2024.
