Saturday Kitchen’s Matt Tebutt debuted the show’s festive makeover
presenter was forced to concede that is “far better” after the two morning shows faced off in an impromptu Christmas contest.
During Saturday’s visit (December 7) to the studios, and woke up the nation with the biggest stories hitting the headlines.
This included Kate Middleton hosting her annual Christmas carol service after returning to her royal duties and following on the last leg of his 230-mile MND run to raise money for people affected by motor neurone disease.
But arguably the biggest story of the day was the impact of the ongoing storm across the west of the country after the issues a red weather warning.
Towards the end of the show, the dynamic duo introduced the 50-year-old broadcaster onto the show as he showed off the studio’s festive makeover.
Charlie Stayt couldn’t help but start a bit of friendly competition
After the dad-of-two teased viewers about what was coming up on the show, the morning presenters complimented the broadcaster on their Christmas decorations.
However, Charlie was quick to point out one special touch the show was lacking to add a bit of festive cheer to the cooking programme.
He pointed out: “Matt we love the set but what you’re lacking there is a sound effect, can you hear this? Listen” he insisted as jingle bells played over the audio.
Matt replied: “Oh, a bit of jingle bells? We can do a bit of jingle bells I’m sure” as Charlie probed: “So you think your sound department can do better than our sound department, is that what you’re saying?”
To which the host replied: “I mean, if we’re going to have a sound department-off I’m sure we can” as the 60-year-old broadcaster chuckled: “I like that idea. What have you got? What are you bringing to the table?”
