Cole Palmer has same opinion as Trent Alexander-Arnold which Jamie Carragher fumed over

has expressed a similar view to which saw the Liverpool star prompt anger from Jamie Carragher. ace Palmer says the Ballon d’Or is the No. 1 trophy he wants to win during his career.

Asked on the show which trophy he most wanted to win, the 22-year-old responded: “The Ballon d’Or. That’s the one everyone wants to win.”

“I believe I can [win the Ballon d’Or],” Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports earlier this season. “I want to be the first full-back to ever do it. It’s only the morning after you retire that you’re able to look in the mirror and say: ‘I gave it everything I got’.

“It doesn’t matter how many trophies you win, or how many medals you’ve got. It matters what you give to the game and if you reach your full potential.”

But Carragher responded: “He can try and win the Ballon d’Or, there’s nothing wrong with ambition, but my first thought when I read that was ‘you’re not winning the Ballon d’Or as a right-back for ‘.”

Alexander-Arnold is one of a triumvirate of stars whose contracts expire at the end of the season. Carragher says he has more faith that Virgil van Dijk and will extend their deals than Alexander-Arnold.

“I do believe Van Dijk and Salah will definitely renew their contracts,” Carragher continued. “Trent on the other hand, I’m worried about. The longer it drags on, I think he joins Real Madrid.”

Alexander-Arnold insists he will prioritise talks with over a new contract out of respect to his current club. He says those discussions will happen in private, away from the public sphere. Meanwhile, Salah has been linked with a switch to Paris Saint-Germain.
