BBC Strictly semi-final LIVE: Pete Wicks begs fans for support after backlash from trolls

Tasha and her partner Aljaz Skorjanec will be back fighting tonight with a Waltz to Aretha Franklin’s (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman, followed by a Salsa to Something New by Girls Aloud.

Miranda star and partner Vito Coppola will perform a Tango to Big Love by Fleetwood Mac and Jive to The Pointer Sisters’ hit I’m So Excited.

and Lauren Oakley will be back with a Salsa to Red Alert by Basement Jaxx and a Paso Doble to Requiem for a Tower by Clint Mansell.

Fan-favourite and Dianne Buswell will Charleston to The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn’s When You’re Smiling and Viennese Waltz to Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters.

While and Jowita Przystał take on an Argentine Tango to The Verve’s Bittersweet Symphony and Foxtrot to Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin.

Tasha and Aljaz open the show

and Aljaz Skorjanec opened the semi-final with an energetic Salsa to Girls Aloud’s Something New.

The duo, who are recovering from the dance-off last week, were praised by the judges – with Motsi Mabuse describing it as fit for the final.

Anton said Tasha had “brilliant technical quality and expression” but added that the routine was “not quite seamless”.

Huge clues Pete Wicks could make it to Strictly final

Pete, along with his partner Jowita Przystal, has repeatedly found himself at the bottom of the leaderboard in recent weeks.

However, the public has continually kept them in the competition, saving them from the dance-off each time

This week, the duo will perform an Argentine Tango followed by a Foxtrot, which some fans believe are two of the “easier” dances.

With Pete’s relatively safer routines and some ongoing public support, he may just dance his way into the finals.

Amy Dowden ‘gutted’ after latest blow

Amy Dowden said she is “gutted” the MasterChef Strictly Christmas special has been pulled after Gregg Wallace stepped away from hosting the cooking show as allegations of misconduct are investigated.

The star, 34, was among the professional dancers who were to feature in the Strictly Festive Extravaganza which was due to be part of the ‘s December schedule.

Addressing the schedule change on ITV’s Lorraine, Dowden said: “I’m gutted about that. I did have a lovely time but obviously, I can’t comment any further because it is under investigation. But, yeah, I’m actually gutted.”

has reached out to fans on social media to ask for their support after backlash against him remaining in the competition despite being at the bottom of the leaderboard.

Writing on , the TOWIE star said: “Today is semi-finals day. It’s been 12 weeks of hard work, ups and downs…can we do the unthinkable? We would love your support tonight.”
