Wrap battle: Burger King offers free Royal Crispy Wraps after McDonald’s announcement

The fast-food chains are engaging in a little friendly competition — which means we all benefit.

Burger King is offering customers a free Royal Crispy Wrap from now until Dec. 8 with a $1+ purchase through the BK app or website.

This deal comes hot on the heels of news that McDonald’s is bringing back the Snack Wrap in 2025 after a nine-year hiatus.

First introduced in August 2023, Burger King’s Royal Crispy Wraps feature white meat chicken, tomato and lettuce in a tortilla, and are available in Classic, Honey Mustard and Fiery flavors.

Now, for the fine print: To snag the deal, customers must have a Royal Perks account and activate the offer in the “offers” tab on the app or website before placing the order. It is limited to one offer per account and not available during breakfast hours. The promo is not valid with any other coupons or offers, in Alaska, Hawaii or U.S. territories or on delivery orders.

After Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s USA, confirmed that the “Snack Wrap will be back in 2025,” McDonald’s reiterated the news on X, posting, “snack wraps xx.xx.2025.”

Both Erlinger and McDonald’s USA declined to confirm the exact date of the item’s return.

Burger King decided to be a little sassy in response, reminding folks that there are wraps already available on the market.

“royal crispy wraps 12.05.2024,” Burger King wrote on X, following it up with another post about the deal.

“At BKKKKKK, have it your way. get your Wrap today,” the chain wrote.

McDonald’s Snack Wrap has been off menus since 2016, and for years, those on social mediahave begged the Golden Arches to bring it back, including a Change.org petition with over 17,000 signatures.

McDonald’s senior marketing director Guillame Huin said the fans are directly responsible for the Snack Wrap’s return.
