The couple were joined by their three children, , and other members of the wider royal family.
is bravely easing back into royal duties following her cancer diagnosis back in March and the end of her treatment. She arrived in a stunning ensemble, wearing a beautiful red coat with a stylish oversized black bow.
Following the service, the royals shared pictures of the family holding candles in the iconic abbey along with a message of hope for the world.

The 1,600 attendees were invited in recognition of them having supported others in some way.
The Waleses were photographed arriving at the event on Friday night, in a venue that will no doubt hold a special place in their heart, having been the church where William and Kate wed in 2011.
The young also stopped at a “Kindness Tree” outside the Abbey’s great west door and hung messages on its branches in dedication to someone who supported them during their lives in line with the theme of the night, love and empathy.

They were also introduced to the Dean of Westminster, Dr David Hoyle when they first arrived with their father William.
In a touching moment, Kate revealed that she had entrusted her youngest son Louis, six, to remain discreet about the performance by soloists from the Royal Ballet at the event.
Kate told singer Paloma Faith, who performed at the service tonight, that she had asked her youngest son Louis: “Can you keep a secret otherwise it won’t be a surprise for Charlotte, who loves her ballet dancing.”
She said that Louis agreed, explaining: “He has kept the secret for, what, nearly two weeks now.”
The singer replied: “Very challenging.”
