The couple announced their news with a charming post on social media, and their new arrival will be Verstappen’s first child, while Brazilian model and German-born Piquet has a daughter named Penelope from a previous relationship.

Who is Kelly Piquet?
On the first day of 2021, Verstappen and Piquet went public with their relationship. Piquet works in a wide variety of professions when she is not supporting Verstappen’s racing career.
She has an impressive portfolio of companies she has modelled for, including PatBo and Lucas Boccalao, while she has also walked the cat walk at many other shows. Interestingly, she was also put in charge of managing the social media coverage for Formula E in 2015.
Piquet also has a column with Marie Claire magazine. Before she started her career, she undertook internships with Vogue Latinoamerica and Bergdorf Goodman. Before that, she attended Marymount Manhattan College, in New York City, where she majored in International Relations with an emphasis on political science and economics.

Kelly Piquet and Max Verstappen’s staggering net worth
According to Verstappen’s net worth has risen to a jaw-dropping £165million. It’s understood that Verstappen earns a base salary of around £43.5m at and is also creating his own GT team.
This salary does not include any additional bonuses in his contract and other brand deals and investments which would further bulk up his bank account. In addition, Verstappen lives in Monte Carlo, Monaco, where he is exempt from paying income tax.
Meanwhile, Piquet’s net worth is difficult to nail down, but it’s reportedly somewhere between £780,000 and £2.35m.
Piquet’s famous father
Piquet is the daughter of the iconic three-time F1 world drivers championship winner Nelson Piquet. The Brazilian competed in F1 betweeen 1978 and 1991, winning the world championship in 1981, 1983 and 1987.
Back in January this year, Verstappen spoke of his relationship with Nelson, saying: “We don’t really talk about motorsport. He has talked about that more than enough in his life.
“At a certain point you don’t feel like doing it anymore, you’re done talking about it. I understand that, there is more to life.”

Piquet’s famous ex-boyfriend
Before she formed a relationship with Verstappen, Piquet was partnered up with Russian driver Daniil Kyvat. They were an item between 2017 and 2019.
Piquet and Kyvat even had a baby together in 2019, whom they named Penelope. The couple broke up in December of the same year, though. Since being together, Verstappen has been supporting Piquet in raising Penelope.
Interestingly, in 2016, Verstappen was brought in to from Toro Rosso to replace Kyvat, who had endured a calamitous Russian Grand Prix which saw him crash into Sebastian Vettel twice within two corners.
Kyvat was dropped to junior team, before being released at the end of the 2017 campaign. He now competes under a neutral flag in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Lamborghini.
