Sergio Perez is under threat at Red Bull

Perez is contracted with until the end of the 2026 campaign, but after a dreadful second half of the 2024 season, the 34-year-old’s position has become untenable. He has 152 points to ’s 429 and hasn’t scored a podium finish since round five of the season in China.
The 34-year-old’s form has single-handedly ruled out of contention for the Constructors’ Championship, too. The Milton Keynes squad travel to Abu Dhabi locked into P3 with leading in the race for the title.
With Perez’s form still heading in the wrong direction after just one top-nine finish in the last seven Grands Prix, the elephant in the room is becoming more and more difficult to ignore. However, according to team principal , the ball is in Checo’s court.
“We will fully support him until the chequered flag drops in Abu Dhabi. Whatever he decides after that is ultimately his decision,” he said in Qatar. “He’s old enough and wise enough to draw his own conclusions. But there’s still one race to go. Now let’s get Abu Dhabi out of the way and then we’ll see where we stand.”
