Tiktokers are ho-ho-hoing over one South Carolina mom’s hilarious iPhone blunder
“When your mom takes a Live Photo and forgets she’s listening to her smut book.. then sends it in the family chat!” Taylor McGuigan captioned a now-viral video.
In McGuigan’s clip, the camera zooms in on a snap of her mother Kimberly Barber’s Christmas display, featuring reindeer decorations and twinkling lights on a garland draping a fireplace. Then suddenly, a voice is heard describing a man who has a “bulge forming” in his pants.
Live Photos capture 1.5 seconds of movement and sound, and when Barber hit the shutter button, she was listening to K.A. Tuckers erotic romance novel “Break Me.”
The gaffe could have easily gone unnoticed. But luckily, McGuigan’s husband, Mark, decided to tap on the image, bringing it to life.
“He played it for me and we literally hit the floor laughing,” McGuigan tells TODAY. “It took us a really long time to recover.”
Barber, who co-owns online boutique Willow Dock Design with McGuigan, says she “lost it” when Mark FaceTimed and showed her the picture with sound.
“I will never live this down,” Barber tells TODAY, with a giggle.
“She was mortified,” McGuigan says.
Not only did Barber give people a good chuckle — she did a public service.
“I DIDNT REALIZE LIVE PICTURES HAVE SOUND,” one person wrote in the comments.
“My mom left her live on when she took pictures of my son being delivered..”
“Who else just discovered those Live Photos have sound? I’m so terrified about all the pictures I’ve ever sent.”
“I was today years old when I learned that Live Photos had audio.”
Barber’s husband, Stacey, is also enjoying internet fame after McGuigan shared her dad’s reaction from the group chat. It read:
