Loose Women’s Kaye Adams made a heartfelt admission on the ITV show, admitting that she had to “reinvent” Christmas after her parents’ deaths.
During an emotional episode of the ITV panel show on Wednesday (December 4), the 61-year-old presenter shared her experiences of grief over the festive period with co-stars Frankie Bridge, Kelly Brooks and Kéllé Bryan, confessing her first Christmas without her father felt like “sleep walking”.
Kaye reflected: “I think you kind of have to reinvent it. Like similar to you, I’ve lost both my mum and my dad, and Christmas was always, always at their house. The first one after my dad died, we just kind of slept walked through it.”
“We went through the motions. We were kind of anaesthetised to the whole thing,” she continued.
“You did it, because it felt like a big thing to ignore it, but like I say, we were sleep walking. But in the years since, you’ve just got to reinvent it. Because it was so much associated with them. For us, we just had to have a different thing.”
Kaye Adams opened up on Loose Women about grief
In another moment from Wednesday’s edition of Loose Women, celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo joined the panel to promote his latest cookbook.
However, the atmosphere became awkward when the famously frank Gino commented on an ‘awkward’ rule about on-screen kissing.
Just moments after joining the panel, Gino caused a stir by giving each of the presenters a peck on the cheek. He admitted to breaking a rule, saying: “They told me ‘please don’t kiss the ladies on the table’ but what kind of Italian would come on the show without kissing the ladies. The rules are rubbish,” reports The Mirror.
Kaye confided in her fellow Loose Women panellists
The panellists chuckled at his comment, with Kelly playfully warning Gino: “Well I think you’ve just got fired,” causing the panel to erupt in laughter as a confused Gino asked: “What, for a kiss?”
Viewers quickly took to social media to share their reactions, with one viewer tweeting: “That was very awkward…. #loosewomen Frankie looked uncomfortable.” Another remarked: “#loosewomen Gino being so careful with his innuendo today.”
One warned: “Careful Gino they’ll be wanting to cancel you. #loosewomen.” Meanwhile, another questioned: “Do you really think they told him not to kiss them? #Loosewomen.”
