Boxing enthusiasts are urging heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk to retire Tyson Fury ‘for the sake of boxing. ‘ Following their thrilling encounter in May, the two titans are set to clash again on December 21 in Riyadh.
Usyk dealt Fury his first professional defeat in their initial bout, besting ‘The Gypsy King’ via split-decision. In the early rounds of this year’s fight, the Ukrainian dominated and seemed poised to take a comfortable lead.
However, Fury made a comeback midway through the match, successfully landing blows on his opponent. The turning point came in the ninth round when Usyk landed a powerful left hand, causing Fury to falter.
Although the Ukrainian couldn’t end the fight then, he managed to control the remainder of the heavyweight showdown and ultimately won on points. This time, Usyk is aiming for a more commanding performance, with many fans already predicting another victory for him and an end to the rivalry.
As the eagerly anticipated rematch approaches, Usyk has been flaunting his impressive physique on social media.
The boxing community is abuzz with anticipation as the 36-year-old heavyweight champion showcases his impressive form in training sessions, leaving fans and followers astounded. Calls for him to force retirement upon a two-time world champion have been vocal, with one fan pleading: “Please retire Fury for good for the sake of boxing.”
Another demanded: “DESTROY him. Close the chapter of that clown, forever.”
A third supporter urged: “Erase him champ! ” while another advised: “Take him back to school, Oleksandr. Don’t give him a minute, all over him. Good luck,” Admirers also noted Usyk’s physical condition, with comments like, “Damn…the neck on Usyk. That’s why he’s got such a great chin.”
In the lead-up to their highly anticipated rematch, Fury has not held back, making an explicit vow to ‘f***’ Usyk up. During a heated exchange on the DAZN YouTube channel’s ‘FACE OFF’, Usyk recalled a moment from their previous bout, saying: “It was perfect. Tyson was keeping good.”
However, Fury interjected sharply: “But, you had your little chance to knock me out didn’t you? And you couldn’t do it, b****, could ya? ” He continued to taunt Usyk, “Hit me with ten shots in a row and you couldn’t do it. You couldn’t even put me down after being on Bambi legs. You hit me ten shots, ten clean shots on the chin… no canvas touch. You’re f***** in the rematch. Like Tupac said, you hit me with your best shots and couldn’t do f*** all. You know what’s coming for you. I’m going to f*** you up, b****.”
