Speculation is mounting over who will replace as the host and judge of the ’s flagship cooking competition, . The search comes after Wallace, 60, stepped down amid a string of misconduct allegations.

At least 13 accusations of inappropriate sexual behaviour have been made against Wallace, including claims from three women who alleged groping and indecent exposure. Additional allegations of “inappropriate sexual comments” were previously made by women, including Kirsty Wark and Kirstie Allsopp.

Wallace’s lawyers have strenuously denied the claims, stating: “It is entirely false that he (Wallace) engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature.”

John Torode, Wallace’s long-time co-host, addressed the situation saying: “I love my job, and I love MasterChef. I love being part of it and will continue to be part of it.”

As fans await an official announcement, the future of MasterChef hangs in the balance with some of the biggest names in British food television vying for the spot.

“The celebrity Christmas specials are obviously a different type of show and in the current circumstances we have decided not to broadcast them.”
