The seven and ten year old girls were last seen at Strathcona Elementary at the lunch bell just before 1 p.m. They have been found.
UPDATE: The two girls were found safe on Tuesday evening.
Vancouver police are looking for two young girls who failed to return to school after the lunch break.
The girls seven and 10 were last seen just before 1 p.m. Tuesday on the playground at Strathcona Elementary School, near East Pender and Jackson Avenue.
“There have been numerous sightings of the girls in Strathcona and Chinatown throughout the afternoon — most recently at International Village — however, their whereabouts are currently unknown,” said VPD spokesperson Const. Tania Visintin in an alert sent around 5:15 p.m.
“Given their age, cool temperatures and nightfall, police are increasingly concerned for their wellbeing.”
