Robbie Williams hailed ‘an angel’ for random kind gesture to comedian he didn’t know

Robbie Williams has been praised by a comedian for his kind-hearted nature after he made an “under the radar” gesture following a podcast he’d listened to.

The Take That star, 50, had tuned in to listen to Sara Pascoe on an unnamed podcast, where she appeared alongside another “male comedian” – who was not identified.

After the broadcast, Robbie noticed that Sara “hadn’t been treated very nicely” by the other comic. Wanting to rectify the situation, he took it upon himself to track down the mother-of-two and offered her a gesture she simply couldn’t refuse.

At this point, he didn’t know Sara but felt she deserved some kindness after having a less than pleasant experience on the podcast with another fellow comedian.

Sara recounted the moment when Robbie unexpectedly called her on ITV’s Lorraine, explaining to the renowned host how she ended up receiving an invitation to the movie premiere of Better Man purely by chance after her negative on-air experience, reports .

Expressing her gratitude for the unexpected act of kindness from Robbie, who was a complete stranger to her, she told the Scottish host: “It was honestly the sweetest thing, he’d heard me on a podcast and I must have been promoting my book or something and he didn’t think that the male comedian was very nice to me.”

The comedian from 8 Out Of 10 Cats shared a touching story: “So he thought he’d do something nice for me and he called and said ‘I didn’t think that guy was very nice to you’ and then like this angel was saying ‘do you want to come to my movie premiere? and ‘Ive got this big film coming out’.”

She continued, discussing the upcoming film: “I think it’s coming out in a couple of weeks called Better Man and I got to go his premiere like a super fan.”

Lorraine Kelly responded warmly: “Do you know, that’s lovely,” to which Sara agreed: “It was so lovely.” Lorraine replied with affirmation: “And I’m not surprised by that because he’s a good lad and he’s a kind person.”

“He does a lot of things a bit like George Michael used to do, like really under the radar and just being kind,” ahe added, further commending the hitmaker.

Sara explained: “I think being famous is such a crazy thing and that’s what his film is about but you can use it to sort of make people’s day.”

Lorraine concluded with a positive note: “Yeah, and then that makes your day and there you are, that’s sorted.”

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1, from 9am.
