Ring girl Sydney Thomas, who became an overnight sensation during the vs bout, has disclosed that she ended her relationship shortly before her rise to fame. The fight, which was broadcast live on , featured Thomas and she quickly became the talk of the night, with fans hailing her as the true star of the show.
The 21 year old University of Alabama student graced the event alongside fellow MVP models Lexi Williams, Raphaela Milagres, Virginia Sanhouse, and Delia Sylvain. Social media users were quick to sing her praises, with one X (formerly Twitter) user proclaiming, “Sydney Thomas, the real winner of Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson”.
Another commented on the streaming issues by saying, “If the Paul vs Tyson fight buffered only while showing Sydney Thomas the fight wouldn’t have been so bad,” while a third admitted, “My entire feed is Sydney Thomas content and honestly I’m down with it.”
A fourth was captivated by her presence, stating, “Just watched the highlights of Mike Tyson destroying Jake Paul, it was crazy a fight but my winner is Sydney Thomas.” And now, in a chat with YouTube personality Nick Nayersina, Thomas opened up about her recent breakup, explaining that despite having no problems with her ex-boyfriend, she felt the need for more personal space. “I literally broke up with my boyfriend,” she said.
“I had no problems with him at all. Like, he was great. I just broke up with him because I was like ‘I just need and want more time with myself.'” She remarked: “As hard as it was to lose him and lose each other I feel like it’s all God’s plan. It works out in the end.”

When questioned about the timing of their separation, Thomas disclosed: “This was right before summer. I ended the relationship because I felt the need to spend more time alone and discover who I truly am.” The young 21 year old also discussed her current romantic situation, confirming her single status and her intent to take a dating hiatus, elaborating that “any man is a distraction to me.”
Although not actively seeking a new partnership at present, Thomas did divulge her criteria for a potential suitor, saying, “I need a man that’s taller than six foot. I’d like a tall man in my life [since] I’m a tall girl,” while emphasizing the importance of respect, noting, “I need someone who is respectful and I think that’s honestly one of the biggest turnoffs for me; when a man isn’t respectful.”
In the wake of the Paul-Tyson clash in Texas, Thomas’s social media presence has skyrocketed, now boasting a following of 1 million on and 775k on . Despite an uneventful and lacklustre bout, it was Paul who emerged victorious over the ex-heavyweight world champ, claiming the win by unanimous decision.
Paul, post-fight, conceded that despite the pre-match trash talk, he had no desire to seriously hurt Tyson, noticing the age difference becoming apparent in the ring. “I wanted to give the fans a show but I didn’t want to hurt someone that didn’t need to be hurt,” he admitted.
“There was a point where he (Tyson) was not engaging back, I could just tell his age was showing a little bit. That violence war thing… that went away as the rounds went on.”
Additionally, Paul expressed his indifference to public opinion: “People just love to hate me. I intentionally say things for people to hate. That’s what I like to do. If people want to see more… give me a couple of months. I tried to give the best fight I possibly could. When someone’s just surviving in the ring, it’s hard to make it exciting. I don’t care what people have to say. It is what it is.”
