Former Love Island star Luca Bish has declared “Christmas is cancelled” after confirming the upcoming MasterChef Christmas special has been pulled by the .
The 25-year-old reality TV star had been set to appear in a festive edition of the cooking show alongside Amy Walsh, Max George and Shazia Mirza. The two Christmas specials were set to air on One later this month, but they will no longer be aired following the recent scandal surrounding accusations about former host Gregg Wallace.
Last week, the TV chef found himself embroiled in a series of allegations of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behaviour over the course of 17 years. The corporation has now cancelled its two festive episodes which featured celebrities including The Wanted singer Max George, actor Amy Walsh, reality star Luca Bish and comedian Shazia Mira.
The second installment called MasterChef Meets Strictly Festive Extravaganzam was due to feature ‘s Amy Dowden, Gorka Marquez, Kai Widdrington and Nancy Xu, with Motsi Mabuse setting a challenge.
The previously said it would continue airing all schedules episodes of MasterChef, but it appears as though TV bosses have had a change of heart after their announcement on December 3.
Gregg vehemently denies the claims made against him
The presenter, 60, issued a controversial video statement at the weekend in which he hit out at a handful of “middle-class women of a certain age” over complaints made against him. He has since apologised for his remarks. He faces allegations from 13 people across a range of shows over a 17-year period, as reported by News on Thursday, with many others since sharing their experiences.
Due to the ongoing investigation the has decided not to broadcast th Celebrity Christmas special episode Luca was set to star in.It has also been confirmed that three episodes of Two’s Inside the Factory, which are repeats, have been taken out of the schedule.
Luca took to to tell his 1.2million followers he was gutted about the decision to pull the show. Sharing a black and white image of him in the celebrity MasterChef kitchen he captioned to post: “Christmas is cancelled. Gutted our Christmas special has been put on hold but hope to be on your screens again soon.”
His fans were understandably gutted by the news, with one follower commented: “No we need you on the tv luca.” Whie another wrote: “Very disappointed. You and Amy are such a joy to watch together.”
A spokesperson said: “As we have said, MasterChef is an amazing competition which is life-changing for the chefs taking part and the current series of MasterChef: The Professionals is continuing as planned. The celebrity Christmas specials are obviously a different type of show and in the current circumstances we have decided not to broadcast them.”
