Horror Birmingham bus stabbing as man and boy, 17, rushed to hospital

A man and a teenage boy have been rushed to hospital after a horror bus stabbing in Birmingham.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Colebrook Road in Sparkhill shortly before 3pm on Wednesday afternoon, according to West Midlands Police.

Pictures from the scene show the attack happened on a number 4 bus, which is now sitting stationary inside a police cordon. Officers continue to investigate the horror stabbing. Local diversions are in place.

The bus was originally heading towards Solihull Station, via Sparkbrook and Tyseley. The A41 Warwick Road, a key route through the city, remains closed in both directions as investigators work at the scene.

West Midlands Ambulance confirmed that both men, 32 and 17, were treated at the medical crews, with one man receiving trauma care. He was rushed to hospital on blue lights and the second man was treated at the scene.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We’re investigating after a man and a teenager were stabbed on a bus in Birmingham this afternoon (December 4). We were called at 2.45pm to Colebrook Road in Sparkhill.

“A man aged 32 and a 17-year-old boy were taken to hospital where they remain in a serious condition. Our investigation is in its very early stages and we’re appealing for anyone who has not yet spoken to us to come forward.

“The scene is being held. Warwick Road at the junction of Colebrook Road in Sparkhill remains closed.”
