The favourite addressed his time on the popular ITV series, in which show stars are put through their paces, from Bushtucker trials to eating fish eyes.
While campmates are forced to live on a rice and beans diet, it is known to be the most efficient way to lose weight; Martin has revealed he was able to “cure himself” while in camp.
Speaking exclusively to Express Online on behalf of , the former jungle star admitted he had eliminated his asthma while in the Australian jungle.
The dad-of-two said that while he didn’t suffer any ailments during the show’s production, quite the opposite happened, and the presenter eliminated his asthma – a chronic lung condition that causes inflammation in the airways, making it difficult to breathe.

“Going on a really regimented diet of unprocessed food – which is what it is – nothing in there is processed,” he explained. “Rice and beans. But all the other stuff is vegetables and meat.”
Martin continued: “By the end of it, I noticed I was feeling a lot healthier.”
The property expert, who had been diagnosed with asthma as a child, found the lung condition had disappeared while in the jungle and in the weeks and months since leaving the camp.
He shared: “I’ve had asthma since childhood. I used my little inhaler and puffer, and I came out, and my asthma had gone.
“I cured my asthma by what I didn’t eat in the jungle.”
However, Martin has shared that his asthma has now returned, which he largely equates to his lifestyle habits.
“It was really interesting, but of course, you slip back into life, and my asthma has come back,” he mused.
“I know what I need to do. Just eat healthy food. Unfortunately, life gets in the way slightly. Especially when you’re on the road filming Homes Under The Hammer.”
