I’m A Celeb in chaos as camp ravaged by ‘epidemic’ with one star speaking out

has been left in chaos, with an epidemic breaking out in the camp.

So far, three celebs have been evicted and managed to escape the treacherous conditions – Jane Moore, Dean McCullough and Tulisa. And Dean has explained that an outbreak of one disease has lowered morale.

Speaking to The Mirror after his jungle exit, radio DJ Dean explained: “Imagine the worst camping trip you’ve ever been on. You think it’s going to be gorgeous, then everything gets wet and you’re stuck there for weeks. Nothing ever dries out.

“It’s kind of a thing now in camp where if you don’t have trench foot, you’re kind of not cool. It was a real thing, and it does bring the mood down. Me and Coleen were both like: ‘When are we going to get a chance to do some sun bathing?’”

At one point, the rain was so torrential the campmates had to shelter for 45 minutes inside the Bush Telegraph, which ruined their hard-earned meal of crocodile tail. Instead, they were served tofu – which Dean says was “short change”.

Dean added: “I’m from Belfast, and I live in , the two wettest places in the UK. I will never whinge about that rain ever again. It was biblical.”

There have been calls for an evacuation of the camp due to the wet conditions, with threats of flooding in the nearby jungle. Boxer Barry McGuigan admitted: “In my entire 63 years of life, I have never seen such rain, never.”

Concerns are running high for the stars after a staggering 114.5mm of rainfall hit the camp within just 24 hours – putting the satellite and transmission systems at risk for broadcasting the telly.

A source told The Sun: “All the campmates are fine, but producers monitored them on Saturday night as the storm worsened. The crew were struggling to make it on site. At one point there was genuine concern about how much they would be able to film. Fortunately, it calmed down a bit and all was OK.”

But an ITV representative said: “We have contingency plans in place to cover all weather eventualities, the health and safety of our celebrities is an absolute priority.”
