GMB viewers fume as they spot ‘ridiculous’ detail about one of the presenters

Good Morning Britain viewers were left fuming on Tuesday morning when they realised something amiss about one of the presenters.

The news show returned on Tuesday, December 3 with and Ed Balls steering the ship. Yet, during the broadcast, fans grew uneasy upon learning that presenter Andi Peters had jetted off to Australia to promote ITV’s “biggest competition” of the year, which boasts a luxury car and a whopping £250,000 prize.

Andi announced: “It is our biggest ever Christmas prize- it starts with £135,000.”

However, the excitement was overshadowed by confusion as Andi’s appearance in Australia came just after weather presenter Laura Tobin had urged viewers to consider their carbon footprint the previous day.

Disgruntled fans took to social media, with one tweeting: “@andipeters is lording it on other side of the world, @ITV taking us for mugs,” reports .

Another pointed out: “Can’t #gmb see the irony they have Andi Peters in Australia for a comp and doom and gloom Laura preaching most days about people’s carbon footprint?”

Another viewer expressed their bewilderment: “I don’t mean to sound grumpy, BUT is there a reason why they’ve sent Andi Peters to Australia to advertise a competition… Ridiculous.”

Another fan questioned: “Does Andi’s 5-minute segment really warrant him being jetted off all the way to Australia?” Meanwhile, a fifth viewer expressed their dismay: “So you have Laura Tobin preaching to everyone about climate change who flew to a meeting for an award night and party…..and now we have Andy Peters flying over 10,000 to tell us about a competition?”

Despite the criticism, Andi did point out that his trip was not solely for the competition segment, as he was also filming for a programme scheduled for release next year. Nonetheless, sharp viewers have previously spotted Andi in various exotic locations such as sunny Spain, South Africa, America, and other European spots, delivering competition updates.

Last week saw Andi stepping into the This Morning spotlight alongside regular host Cat Deeley. With her usual co-host away on filming duties for a new reality game show, Cat has been joined by This Morning favourites Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, with Andi pitching in too.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1.
