The has been having a year of hell – and it’s not over yet.
2024 has seen the broadcaster embroiled in a number of scandals, with the most recent seeing star stepping back from the programme after allegations of sexual misconduct.
Celebrities like Sir , Newsnight presenter Kirsty Wark and Location, Location, Location host have all spoken out against Wallace, who denies the claims. His lawyers say “it is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature”.
But now the is reportedly facing a “mutiny” from its own staff, with sources claiming to The Telegraph: “The issue is whether they have the will to pull them up on their behaviour and whether there’s ever any will in these cases, where there’s big name talent or senior leaders involved.”
It’s far from the first time the has been forced to intervene this year – and fans are now calling its license fee into question.
Huw Edwards

News anchor – who first announced the news of death – admitted to three charges of making indecent images of children, pleading guilty at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
Edwards was handed a six-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, after receiving illegal images of children from convicted paedophile Alex Williams over WhatsApp. He is also required to complete a sex offender programme, as well as being placed on the sex offenders register for seven years.
Edwards was one of the ’s highest paid stars, though he has been asked to repay the his £200,000 salary that he received after his arrest.
Huw first stepped down from his role in 2023, with his wife Vicky Flind confirming to the public that he was the presenter who had been suspended before she reportedly filed for divorce.

Strictly scandal
Giovanni Pernice stepped back from Strictly
Earlier in the year, star stepped back from the dance competition after allegations of bullying from his former celebrity partner Amanda Abbington.
A investigation found two moments of “inappropriate behaviour of sexual banter in the workplace” and found Giovanni used “swear words” and “belittling” language against Amanda – though several complaints were not upheld.
At the same time, also left the series after claims of “physical incidents” against his partner Zara McDermott – including allegations he “kicked and hit” her.
Graziano said he “apologised at the time” claiming his foot only “brushed” Zara when he “kicked the floor in frustration”. Speaking out to the Daily Mail, he said: “I’m not a monster. I’m not an abusive man.
“The only thing I can think of is the time I kicked the floor in frustration. We’d practised hour after hour to perfect a routine with lifts. It wasn’t easy but that’s the pressure of the show.”
Zara said at the time: “So much of my Strictly experience was everything I could have dreamt of. The entire production team and everyone behind the scenes as well as my fellow contestants were so amazing to work with.
“However, my experience inside the training room was very different. Reports have been made about my treatment on the show and there were witnesses to some events, as well as videos of particular incidents which are incredibly distressing to watch.”
