Elton John’s ‘seriously concerned’ friends make two-word plea to star as he loses eyesight

Friends of  are reportedly very concerned for the music icon, who is persevering through a demanding work schedule despite serious health challenges, according to the Mail Online.

The 77-year-old legend has just wrapped up his monumental 330-date Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, a journey filled with musical magic. It has recently unveiled two new musicals: Tammy Faye on Broadway and The Devil Wears Prada in the heart of London.

During the emotionally charged West End premiere of the latter on Sunday, Sir Elton made a heartfelt appearance on stage, where he candidly which prevented him from experiencing the performance he had worked so hard to promote.

With the loving support of his husband, David Furnish, 62, he was gently escorted off the stage.

Despite his initial desire to slow down and spend more quality time at home after the tour’s conclusion, he continues to maintain an overwhelming pace in his professional life.

An insider told The Sun: “Elton’s friends are seriously concerned about how much he has taken on and believe it is having a major impact on his health.

“Quite a few people who he is close to have now encouraged him to slow down because he has been busier than ever this year. He isn’t getting any younger and his health has been deteriorating in the past few years.”

Sir Elton recently disclosed that he has been unable to see out of his right eye for several months, while his left eye is struggling as well, a consequence of a severe infection.

The duration and permanence of this condition remain uncertain, casting a shadow of apprehension over his future.

At The Dominion Theatre, Sir Elton emotionally addressed the audience: “And to my husband, who’s been my rock, because I haven’t been able to attend many of the previews.

“As you know, I’ve lost my eyesight. It’s hard for me to see it, but I love to hear it—and boy, it sounded good tonight. Thank you for coming.”

He further expressed, “It’s been four months now since I haven’t been able to see. My left eye is not the greatest. So there’s hope and encouragement that it will be okay, but I’m kind of stuck at the moment.

“I can do something like this, but going into the studio and recording is challenging because I can’t see the lyrics, for a start.”

The acclaimed singer-songwriter openly reflected on his circumstances, stating, “It’s never fortunate for anything like this to happen.

“It kind of floored me because I can’t see anything, I can’t read anything, I can’t watch anything.”

Yet, showcasing his resilient and optimistic spirit, Elton expressed his profound gratitude for life, affirming, “I’m so lucky; I’m the luckiest man in the world,” reminding everyone of the light that still shines amidst the difficulties he faces.
