is set to take to the Broadway stage for the first time in Good Night, and Good Luck next year, however his latest project is said to have sparked some concerns about his personal life.

Announcing his lead role earlier this year, the 63-year-old actor said: “I am honoured, after all these years, to be coming back to the stage, and especially to Broadway, the art form and the venue that every actor aspires to.”

Yet, behind-the-scenes, there are claims that his latest venture could mean spending months away with his wife , 46, and their seven-year-old twins Ella and Alexander.

Insiders told New Idea Magazine that Amal’s packed agenda, juggling high-profile human rights legal work and parenting duties, might prevent her from being with George in New York.

“Amal has got her hands full with her work as a human rights lawyer and the twins are in school,” the source shared.

“They won’t be able to drop everything and head over every other weekend, even with private jets at their disposal.”

Clooney reportedly plans to see his family as much as possible, but the source claims it won’t be easy.

The source adds that there is “some concern” about how George will cope if his debut doesn’t take off as well as he had hoped, particularly as “Amal won’t be directly on hand to pick up the pieces.”

On the other hand, if the Broadway show becomes a hit, it may mean extending their time apart.

Despite the geographical and schedule clashes, there’s a chance that the couple could navigate their family life successfully, given their multiple residences across the United States, the UK, and Lake Como in Italy.

George revealed his latest venture ahead of the pair’s 10th wedding anniversary celebrations back in September.

Discussing the secret to their successful marriage so far, a source told Heat Magazine: “One of the big reasons Amal and George work so well together is because they’re independently successful and secure in their individual fields.

“They also have great nannies and their houses are like mini resorts.”

The source went on to say that the couple living “separate lives” professionally while sharing a home has become “an open joke” among their circle, yet both George and Amal seem unaffected by such talk.

“Most days they get together in the evening for dinner and a catch-up, but if they need to work into the night or head off to a business meeting, that’s not something they sweat about,” they continued.

Representatives for George and Amal have been approached by Reach PLC for a statement.
