Botswana clearly means a lot to the couple as when they got engaged in 2017, proposed with a three-stone ring featuring a large centre-cut diamond sourced from Botswana alongside two side stones from his mother’s jewellery collection.

During the couple’s engagement interview, Harry referred to it as the ‘perfect place’ for the then-new couple.
He said: “Because I was off to Africa for a month, and she was working. And we just sort of right where is, where’s the gap? And, the gap happened to be in the perfect place.”
The couple have returned to the country since, including on a royal tour with their son Archie in 2019. It was on that official trip where Meghan shocked the world in an emotional interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby, where she hinted at her struggles within the Royal Family.
