Yet disaster struck the popular programme when severe weather conditions battered New South Wales, tearing through the set and causing mayhem throwing the show into chaos. This comes right after viewers watched Jane Moore say goodbye to the camp, making her the first contestant to leave this series on Friday, November 29.

Presenting legends Ant and Dec reported from the frontline, revealing to show bosses that the continuation of the broadcast was in jeopardy during Saturday night’s spin-off show, Unpacked. Dec remarked, “We all got a text this morning saying the rain was so bad we might not be able to get in today.”

Adding to the drama, Ant confirmed the severity of the situation, stating, “We almost didn’t make it in” He also shared, “[The trial] has been delayed because of the weather. So we will be here for a lot longer today.”

Dec chipped in, expressing concern over the scheduled trial, “We just have to make sure that the trial that was scheduled is doable in the area that it was.”

Highlighting the show’s unpredictability, Joel commented, “People don’t understand that this show is more than what you see on tele. There is an entire infrastructure of stuff.”

Finally, Ant disclosed the extent of the damage: “Things have blown down in the night.”

Dec admitted that the weather became “biblical” during the night, leaving them unsure whether filming would go ahead.

He shared: “It was a bit of an effort to get the show on air today, there were only a few people here because we couldn’t get on site.”

Ant revealed: “It’s only been this bad once before, and we all nearly got trapped on site, and a lot of people couldn’t leave for ages.”

Although the weather began to improve, there is still some uncertainty over Sunday’s Bushtucker Trial.

Ant, one part of the beloved Geordie duo, revealed the impact of extreme weather on the show’s set-up: “There’s a tent out the back there where friends and family come and guests on the ITV2 show stay before they go on. And that’s all blown away.”

Joel asked the hosts: “What have we got in store (the Bushtucker Trial)” and Ant revealed: “I do know it’s been delayed because of the weather, we’ll be here a lot longer today.”

Dec added: “They need to make sure the trial that was scheduled is doable in the area that it is.

“Everything’s a little bit up in the air here. And we don’t know who’s doing it because they’re choosing.”

The hosts then admitted that some of the tents had blown down overnight – including the one where family and friends wait for their loved ones.

The severe weather forecast was confirmed by Morgan Pumpa from the Bureau of Meteorology who cautioned on Friday, saying: “We do have quite a large area of thunderstorm activity today stretching out across many states.”
