Prince Harry and Meghan complained about way they were treated at late Queen’s funeral

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have in 2020, however this did not stop them from joining the rest of the Royal Family when it came to for the final time in 2022.

While Harry was just hours late to his grandmother’s bedside on the day she died on September 8, 2022, to say farewell, he was present with the rest of his family – including his wife Meghan – at her public state funeral.

Although he was not in uniform, the prince was entitled to walk alongside his brother in the procession, while Meghan stood with other members of the Royal Family on the sidelines.

The couple were involved in both the public and private aspects of the late Queen’s funeral and even with and Princess Kate in Windsor days after her death, however, they allegedly felt mistreated throughout.

According to columnist Richard Johnson, friends of the couple in London claimed they felt the towards them, which is likely to have been a result of the 2021 Oprah Winfrey which left relationships between Harry and certain family members fractured.

Mr Johnson wrote in : ” and ’s friends in London are whispering that the former royals have been complaining they were snubbed and mistreated at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.

“They both whined that the family wasn’t as welcoming as they should have been.”

When writing about the exact day of his grandmother’s death in his 2023 memoir Spare, the duke also recalled how he was asked not to bring Meghan with him to Balmoral to see the late Queen, despite the fact the couple were already in the UK together at the time.

The duke also revealed how he found out about his grandmother’s passing. He said: “When the plane started to descend I saw that my phone lit up. It was a message from Meg: ‘Call me when you get this’.

“I looked at the website. My grandmother had died. My father was King.”

After the funeral, and flew back to their Californian home to reunite with their two children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.

Since then, Meghan, 43, has not returned to the UK, with the duke having since, including for the Coronation of his father King Charles.

The couple are and are likely to stay in for the festive season.
