One EastEnders star may be returning to Walford
Former star Kellie Shirley has eyed up a return to Albert Square 12 years after she left the long-running soap.
The 43-year-old actress – who is set to play the Wicked Queen in Fairfield Halls production of Snow White next month – rose to fame when she landed the role of Carly Wicks back in 2006.
During her time in Walford, the blonde bombshell is attacked by dodgy salesman Warren Stamp, stars an affair with her sister’s boyfriend and is left devastated when her adoptive father Kevin Wicks is killed in a car accident.
The TV favourite sadly left the show back in in 2008 when she travelled to Thailand to scatter his ashes. She makes a brief return in 2012 with her son Jimmy but soon leaves the show later that year with her mum Shirley Carter.
Since then, the mum-of-three has moved over to the beloved medical drama Casualty earlier this year when she landed the role of Sophia.

But that doesn’t mean the TV star has left her London roots behind her. In fact, the soap siren has revealed that she is open to returning to beloved soap.
In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, she has begged scriptwriters to bring her character back. She told us: “There’s always unfinished business in Walford isn’t there.
“I need to get in touch with one of the screenwriters so they can put me in it. What do you reckon?” It comes after she revealed to Metro.co.uk that she still watches the show in her spare time.
Kellie admitted: “I dip in and out of watching it. I’m very grateful for the time there. It was 18 years ago when I started!

She “mentored” Jamie Borthwick on the show
“I’ve done lots of things since then, it’s opened up lots of lovely doors for me. I loved playing Carly and there’s always unfinished business. If I got to work with Linda Henry again that would be a no brainer, if it was the right storyline.”
The In The Long Run star went on to reveal that she has been supporting her former co-star during his journey.
The redheaded hunk was booted from the dance competition after ten weeks on the show. She gushed: “I mentored Jamie when I was at and he was just a boy when I started. So to see him be a man on Strictly just blows my head off to be honest.
“He’s such a lovely guy and yeah, it was a proud Nana moment for me. I think he was really good and he’s such an amazing human being as well. He really surprised me but that’s the powers of Strictly!”
Speaking about her upcoming role in the Croydon pantomime, the doting mum excitedly revealed: “I’m thrilled to be channelling my inner Wicked Queen for Croydon’s panto this year.
“As a local girl, I can’t wait to be back in my old stomping ground again for Snow White.” Fans will have to stay tuned to see if the actress will return to Albert Sqaure in the near future.
Croydon’s pantomime production of Snow White returns to Fairfield Halls from December 13, 2024 to January 5 2025.
