BBC Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly made an exciting announcement at the start of Saturday’s episode. The quarter-finals sprang into action with an electrifying spectacle from the professional dancers, who paid homage to iconic musicals.
Tess was joined by her fellow host Claudia Winkleman as they presented the panel of judges who were extravagantly dressed as characters from various stage shows, including Shirley Ballas who was virtually unrecognisable in her Miss Trunchbull outfit from Matilda.
Claudia excitedly informed the live audience and home viewers, “We are bringing the West End to the ballroom as we celebrate all things jazz hands.”
Adding to the anticipation, Tess then revealed a milestone moment for the programme: “And it promises to be a big night because we have never ever had this many tens going into the quarter final.”
