Several viewers on social media were quick to criticise Rashford’s actions, with some branding him ‘disrespectful’ for throwing his gloves down while appearing to look at the member of staff behind him.”That’s just disrespectful, I like Rashford but that’s not good,” wrote @RubensRedArmy_ on X (formerly Twitter). @chris_powley added: “The guy should have made him pick them up.”@swanny1310 simply said: “Horrible attitude,” while @Matthecatt posted: “Don’t care who you are, show some respect.”

@EwoodRover quipped: “A flick to each ear would sort that issue out. Painful in the cold.”@pattfurey, meanwhile, said: “Might only seem small but the example he’s setting here for younger kids learning the game is poor. Needs to be showing respect, the staff are there to help him. It takes half a second more to hand it to the staff.”
