Start by pouring a glass of milk into a bowl which forms the base. According to the pro, it’s packed with lactic acid to gently exfoliate the skin.

The beauty expert said: “Next, add four heaped tablespoons of cornflour. It’s widely available, and gives the mask its creamy texture.”

If you’re out of cornflour, rice flour works just as well, according to the pro.

Finish the homemade mask with a teaspoon of olive oil which is good for its hydrating properties.

Vinha added: “It’s especially good for locking in moisture during the colder months.

“Once mixed, apply the mask evenly to a clean face. Let it work its magic for about 20 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water.”

The expert claims that the combination of these simple ingredients helps to exfoliate and brighten the skin as well as smooth fine lines and improve elasticity.

She continued: “It’s like giving your skin a big drink of hydration. A mask like this is brilliant for counteracting those effects.
