Prince Harry avoided ‘extremely unwise’ Spare decision because of two royals

The book, which was written by the Duke of Sussex, followed the prince’s life from childhood to now, containing never-before-heard stories about certain Royal Family moments that were considered to be very private.

At the time, the prince said the memoir was cut back by 400 pages, with many fearing that the details in the left-out sections would then be added to the release of the paperback version, which hit UK shelves last month.

However, much to the relief of the royals, these pages were not added and the memoir remained unchanged.

While this may be a result of Harry trying to earn forgiveness from family members he now has fractured relationships with, including his brother , one royal expert believes it was in fact faced by Princess Kate and King Charles this year that swayed his decision.

During a discussion on , expert Daisy McAndrew said: “I think it could have done, I certainly think that will have made him think twice and will have contributed to this decision not put in the 400 extra pages that he cut back last time.

“I think the fact that people now have so much sympathy for Catherine and for Charles with their cancers that I think even Harry could read the room and see that it would be extremely unwise, unkind and unforgivable in most people’s eyes if he went further now.”

The prince originally said he cut the first version back from 800 pages to 400 pages as some of the content could result in his family not forgiving him.
