has brushed off ‘s claim that he could have won the Drivers’ Championship title in a this season, ruling that the Dutchman’s comments were ‘a bit of a stretch’.

Verstappen sealed his fourth successive World Championship with two rounds to spare after finishing one spot ahead of at the Las Vegas Grand Prix and marked his achievement with some bold comments.

Asked whether he would have won the crown in his rivals’ machinery, he replied: “Yes, even earlier, so [I would have been] further ahead. [With the ], pretty much the same I think. The , no. I think that would have been trickier.”
