fans were left up in arms as the beloved show “goes downhill” after one “cheeky” item.
During Thursday’s instalment of the long-running show, experts Catherine Southon and Ishy Khan battled it out to find the most valuable treasures within their £200 budget.
Then the pair took their findings to resell at auction in a bid to raise the most money for Children in Need.
This week, the duo hit the road in style, cruising through the picturesque countryside in Gloucestershire in their iconic white Toyota throughout the series.
After shopping for goods, Ishy spent £118 of his £200 budget on a magnifying glass £10, a coal skuttle £18, a sweetheart brooch £18, a Georgian mug £32 and a Jesus portrait £40.

Meanwhile, Catherine spent her full £200 budget on a magic lantern slide £10, a cayenne pepper pot £15, a cider flagon £25, a Y-front mannequin £40, and a gold brooch £110.
But arguably, the 52-year-old expert’s most controversial item was the red underwear mannequin which she found in an antiques shop in Bath.
She told viewers: “This is very cheeky and very interesting. This is a mannequin that would have been in a shop displaying the gentleman’s underwear that they are selling.
“Pretty cool, it has attracted me! A lot of this stuff was just chucked in a skip so to actually find one like this is pretty cool. I think I’ve got to have this, it does what it says on the tin beautifully.”
The expert managed to haggle the shop seller down from its original price of £66 to an impressive £40 before she took it to auction, however it only sold for a measly £32.

Fans complained the show has “gone downhill”
The pair then travelled up to an auction house in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire to sell their goods. But the dynamic duo had a difficult time getting any of their items to take off with buyers with only one item raking in more than £100 on the day.
After house costs, Ishy made a loss of £88.24, meanwhile Catherine came out on top after making a smaller loss of £29.89 after auction costs were deducted.
This finally gave her a point on the scoreboard, despite Ishy still storming in the lead with a three-one win so far in the five-part series.
It didn’t take long ebfore fans flooded to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their disappointment with the show online. One user fumed: “Surely this format has had its day?
“Tumbleweed blowing through the auction rooms as dire purchases sell at a fraction of the purchased prices. Really boring #antiquesroadtrip.”
Another agreed: “#AntiquesRoadTrip This show has really gone downhill. I really used to love it. Paul Laudlaw is a terrible loss to the show.”
A third echoed: “Experts finding lovely pieces, auctioneers starting the bidding at ridiculously low prices, local dealers taking the profit and charities ending up with absolutely nothing. What’s the use… #antiquesroadtrip.”
Antiques Road Trip airs on weekdays from 4.30pm on One or catch up on iPlayer.
