This year’s UK Championship is already in full swing with four exciting matches coming up on Wednesday. There are just 16 players left in the competition but only eight will remain after the close of play on Thursday evening.
Barry Hawkins, who conquered Ronnie O’Sullivan on the opening day, will be hoping to book his place in the quarter-finals with victory over David Gilbert this afternoon. Shaun Murphy and Ding Jinhui will also go head-to-head for a place in the last eight.
In the evening, Jack Lisowski will go up against Ali Carter while Wu Yize faces a tough test against Mark Allen.

What happened yesterday?
Mark Selby was the biggest name to crash out of the UK Championship on Tuesday.
He slipped to a surprise 6-4 defeat at the hands of Jack Lisowski.
Wu Yize secured a hard-fought victory over Sia Jiahui while Mark Allen got past Jackson Page despite not being at his best.
Ali Carter, meanwhile, beat Ryan Day to book his place in the round of 16.
