Diogo Dalot started as Amorim’s left-wing-back but struggled alongside left-centre-back Jonny Evans as the hosts targeted their flank.
United have long been linked with a left-back signing amid the injury problems at Old Trafford, and the club’s new head has reportedly made it clear that a resolution is required.
According to , Amorim reiterated his need for a new left-back after the Ipswich clash, making the position his transfer priority.
It’s claimed that United will meet his demands in 2025 and could move as early as January if the right opportunity arises this winter.
While Shaw returned to action in East Anglia, he isn’t expected to be thrown into the starting lineup in the near future.

Ahead of his debut outing, Amorim insisted that United would carefully manage his comeback to prevent his latest injury setback.
He said: “Luke [Shaw], for example, is feeling fine, but we have to build his fitness during games, so we have to be careful.
“I think he’s a very good player, so I will take care of him, and I want these kinds of players that are important in our squad for a long period and not just for a game.”
Shaw quietly went about his business in his 34-minute cameo at Ipswich, slotting in as the left-centre-back as Evans left the action.
