Ringo Starr lets slip Oscar-nominee cast as him in four official Beatles biopics
Back in February, announced that James Bond director Sir Sam Mendes will helm four separate biopics of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
Mendes said at the announcement: “I’m honoured to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies.”
Since then, four actors have been rumoured to have been cast and it turns out the actor was correct all along.

Speaking with , Sir Ringo himself confirmed the rumour that Barry Keoghan has been cast as himself. The 84-year-old Beatles drummer said: “I think it’s great [news] and I believe he’s somewhere taking drum lessons and I hope not too many!” The 32-year-old Irish Oscar nominee has an incredible back catalogue of work, from Dunkirk, Eternals, and The Banshees of Inisherin to Saltburn, Chernobyl, and Masters of the Air.

Meanwhile, rumour has it that The King’s Man actor Harris Dickinson has been cast as John Lennon and Gladiator II’s Paul Mescal will reportedly play Paul McCartney. Additionally, Charlie Rowe, is rumoured to have been cast as George Harrison in the four Beatles biopics.
