In 1996, Britpop icons Oasis set a record by performing to an enormous crowd of 250,000 at the legendary Knebworth Estate, a venue that has seen performances from The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd. This concert marked the UK’s largest gig ever, with a staggering two and a half million people applying for tickets.

Over ten years later, following an onstage argument, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher had a falling out which led to the band’s breakup. However, this summer, in a surprising turn of events, the duo announced they were reuniting for a worldwide stadium tour.

Don’t miss…

There was speculation that the band might return to the iconic site as part of their upcoming Live ’25 tour, especially considering 8.5 million fans worldwide missed out on tickets.

Despite these rumours, the band has confirmed that they have no plans to perform at the park in the future. But in a twist, tribute act Supernova brought some of the Oasis spirit back to Knebworth by staging one of its gigs on the historic estate, playing some of the band’s most famous hits to fortunate concert-goers.

The concert was organised to celebrate the opening of GRIDSERVE’s new Stevenage Electric Forecourt on the A1(M), located within the historic estate, all powered by a Kia EV6 and Genesis GV60.

The Oasis tribute band hailed their performance at the renowned venue, saying: “We’re honoured to have been invited to perform at this legendary venue where Oasis had their biggest-ever concert.

“It’s a rewarding feeling to be able to recreate the experience for the fans who missed out on tickets at this very special opening of GRIDSERVE’s Stevenage Electric Forecourt.”

Rebecca Trebble from the sustainable energy company shared her enthusiasm: “We’re delighted to open this new location on the famed Knebworth Estate which has hosted some of the biggest names in music throughout history.”

She further added, “It’s great to see that this event has brought Oasis fans together once again where they had their notable concert nearly two decades ago.”
