She’s candidly shared her astonishment at one particular aspect of his jungle stint. Confessing that watching her musician son on the show has been like riding an emotional rollercoaster, she’s backing the 38-year-old to clinch the series title. Yet, she’s taken aback by one unexpected behaviour.
After chatting with the Mirror in Brisbane, Kathy couldn’t help but chuckle over Danny’s apparent aversion to washing his underwear.
She remarked: “That’s unusual for him. He’s really clean. He’s really hygienic. It’s really unusual for him.”

“It was different emotions. I just wanted to hug him. You don’t want to see your kids upset. It got me a bit. I am so proud of him… I think he could win and do it for the North.”

Vix remarked earlier in the week: “When I saw him get emotional, it killed me because I just wanted to give him a hug. He is a really emotionally intelligent person, and I really admire that he was able to open up about his anxiety.”

She believes his openness could resonate with many, adding: “I think in sharing that vulnerable moment in front of the nation, a lot of people could relate, so hopefully that helped someone out there struggling too.”

She elaborated on how “important” it is for mental health journeys to be shared – especially for men, who are “breaking the stigma”.
