A royal expert has suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may find greater professional success if they continue to undertake more solo engagements. Speaking on The Royal Beat, The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson noted that the Duke of Sussex often appeared as a “spare part” during joint visits with Meghan, but seemed to return to his old self when attending Invictus Games events alone.

These comments were made in relation to Harry’s solo trip to Vancouver, where he was promoting the Invictus Games and engaging in promotional activities such as meeting with young children. Mr Wilkinson praised Harry for being “natural” and “so nice”, describing him as “the Harry that we kind of miss in many ways”.

He compared Harry’s demeanour when working alone to his attitude during joint trips with Meghan, stating: “Normally we see him looking a bit grumpy, going to Colombia, being a little bit of a spare part. I welcome this Harry. I like this Harry. There should be more coverage, more eyes on his Invictus Games and what he does with the youngsters and stuff like that.”

Mr Wilkinson also suggested that Meghan too appears more confident and successful when undertaking work-related tasks without Harry.

In an intriguing turn of events, described as a “conscious business uncoupling” between and , one expert sees it as a strategic move.

He suggested: “I think he succeeds better in his working environment when it’s just him and I think Meghan succeeds when it’s just her,” reports . Elaborating on their separate paths, the expert added: “I think we’ve both seen them doing separate things…maybe a conscious business uncoupling, but that’s what it is.

“I think they have more chance of succeeding if they are doing their businesses separately and that’s what we’re seeing at the moment. I think when Harry turns up to some of the events with the Duchess of Sussex I think he looks like a spare part, he looks bored.”

Meanwhile, support for Meghan comes from an unexpected quarter as Denise Welch, an actress and presenter, vocally defends the Duchess against detractors.

DON’T MISS [REPORT]

While speaking on the ADHD Chatter podcast, Welch was unequivocal in her stance: “If you get me on television supporting and someone comes on who was paid to lie in an interview to say the documentary was absolutely dire when they’ve not even seen it then I’m going to kick off with that person.”

She went further to express her conviction to defend the Duchess whom she has never met, saying: “It doesn’t mean I’m a horrible person, it’s means that I’ve got a voice that I’m prepared to use to support someone that I don’t know, but that I feel gets a terrible terrible rap in this world, it’s .”

“And then of course you get the people who are anti- who will portray me on social media to be ‘a bully’. It’s like well I’ve never bullied anyone in my entire life. If you mean by checking someone that I vehemently disagree with because they’re denigrating someone that they don’t know either.”

Representatives for Harry and Meghan have been contacted for a response.
