Madison Keys and Bjorn Fratangelo tied the knot over the weekend
Madison Keys and her coach, Bjorn Fratangelo, officially tied the knot over the weekend in a romantic ceremony.
Six of Keys’ rivals and colleagues came out to attend the wedding in Charleston, as the world No. 21 dubbed it the “best weekend” of her life.
Fratangelo previously competed on the men’s circuit but he’s been coaching his partner since last summer and helped her reach the US Open semi-final.
When Keys ended her 2024 season in Wuhan, she had one thing on her mind – her upcoming nuptials. “Let’s get married,” she posted on social media after capping off another year on the tennis tour.
Keys and Fratangelo officially became husband and wife on Saturday, with some fellow players in attendance. Retired British pro-turned-pundit flew across the Atlantic to be there.
Sloane Stephens – the woman who beat Keys in the 2017 US Open final – was in attendance with her husband, former Sunderland striker Jozy Altidore.
World No. 7 and doubles Grand Slam champion Taylor Townsend also came fresh off the back of their WTA Finals appearances.

Doubles ace Desirae Krawczyk and Jennifer Brady, a former top-10 star who has spent the last few years battling injuries, rounded out the star-studded guest list.
The current and former players made the most of their off-season downtime at the Kiawah River wedding, filming dance TikToks together and posing for photos over the weekend.
Keys and Fratangelo – a former top-100 ATP star – started dating in 2017 and announced their engagement last March. The couple have also been navigating another life change this year, working on a major house renovation project.
Earlier this year, the former world No. 7 jokingly told the WTA Insider Podcast: “I would strongly recommend moving with a significant other before you marry them and attempting a home renovation.
“But do those things while you’re planning a wedding. It’ll really make things clear on if your marriage will be successful.”
Keys and Fratangelo also started working together professionally ahead of the grass-court season in 2023 when the world No. 21 was left without a coach and Fratangelo was sidelined from competition.
They enjoyed immediate success – the American won the title in Eastbourne, reached the quarter-final and the US Open semis.
Keys shared a series of photos from the wedding to her on Monday night, and her colleagues flooded the comments with well-wishes – even those who had been in attendance.
“Love wins,” Stephens wrote while Robson added: “The bestttt.” Ben Shelton congratulated the happy couple and Kim Clijsters commended: “Congratulations guys ! Great pictures.”
World No. 8 Emma Navarro said: “Yaayy. Congrats tooz two.” , and Billie Jean King also liked the snaps.
